If you want an all in one package that offers you the ability to manage your affiliates, host all of your content and take payments, this package won’t meet your needs.
If you are running a larger scale business, you will almost certainly have to put your money where your mouth is and pay for a more sophisticated package that can manage these more complicated needs.
In addition, as I mentioned earlier, ConvertKit suits me because I like to keep things simple, and sending basic plain text emails meets my needs.
Having said that, in an idea world I would like to the option to more easily customize my fonts and even colours of my emails, but it’s not a deal breaker for me personally.
If your particular business model requires that you send emails that incorporate more bells and whistles – for example multiple images, logos and/or banner or columns, you will need to shop around for a provider (perhaps MailChimp or AWeber) which can support these sort of features (it is possible to set this up on ConvertKit, but is quite time consuming).
I would say though, that you should keep in mind that these days lots of subscribers access their emails on their mobile device, meaning that plain emails can make more impact, even though that may seem counterintuitive.
And, actually, in my experience emails that are image heavy are more likely to be identified by a server as spam, which is another compelling reason to keep things relatively simple.
In addition, ConvertKit really only comes into its own if you are prepared to fully commit to a tagging line of attack.
Personally, it took me a fairly significant amount of time to get my ideal tagging system up and running, but now it is in place, I am reaping the rewards.
If you don’t have the time or inclination to do similarly, you will probably be better off with a provider that will hold your hand a bit more.
